Tour Dispatch

How do I join my tour?

We utilize a tour dispatch system for excursions at every destination we visit. This system ensures that tour groups first meet with the Shore Excursions team - either onboard or ashore - before being introduced to the local guide. Please always refer to the instructions in the Tour Tickets and in Reflections.

How does your tour dispatch work?

All guests booked on a shore excursion will be informed of the specific location for meeting up, in one of the lounges on the ship or on shore (close to the transportation) , and the designated time. Staff will be on hand to direct you onboard and onshore. The finalized times and meeting places of each shore excursion will also be listed in the daily newsletter, Reflections, the evening prior to your tour.

Please note, the times may differ from the times listed on your itinerary and tickets in MyReservation within MyAccount. Always refer to the time and meeting place listed in your tour tickets and in Reflections. The information on tour tickets and Reflections always corresponds.

If you would like to travel together with friends or family, we suggest arranging to meet your entire party before joining the tour dispatch to ensure that you travel on the same mode of transportation.

Will there be a shore excursion team onboard to assist us?

Our Crystal Destinations team is onboard and onshore to oversee well-coordinated, perfectly delivered shoreside programs. Onboard, the team will offer assistance throughout your cruise. In select ports, the local tourism authorities provide a local representative onboard, who will be in the ship’s main lobby to assist with providing local information and answer any inquires. This service is provided at each port authority's discretion and is not guaranteed. When and where this service is available, guests will be informed of time and location in the daily newsletter Reflections.

Modifications

What if my tour ticket is incorrect or I want to change my tour?

All guests are encouraged to check their tickets upon receipt to ensure they reflect the correct pre-reserved shore excursions. If you notice an error on your ticket(s), please bring them to the Crystal Excursions desk as soon as possible to exchange them for the correct tour. If incorrect tickets are not brought to our attention prior to the cancellation deadline (typically 48 hours before the excursion, unless otherwise specified in the Please Note section or on the Booking Form), you will be charged for the tour listed on the tickets received.

What happens if a port is canceled due to inclement weather or for other reasons or we are late arriving into the port, and I booked an excursion from Crystal?

One of the advantages of purchasing a shore excursion from Crystal is that in the event of any port deviations guests are protected. The Crystal Destinations team will make every effort to create an alternative tour program in the new port. Alternatively, our team will attempt to adjust tour start times for late arrivals into port to ensure an enjoyable overall experience. Guests will be notified as soon as possible by the onboard team about the status of shore excursions and alternative options if available.

How do I know if an excursion is too strenuous and/or difficult for me to participate in?

Activity Levels are indicated on shore excursion descriptions. Many of our excursions involve walking or other physical activity. It is the responsibility of each guest to review the amount of physical activity on each excursion and choose the excursion that best fits their individual ability.

What do I need to pre-reserve a shore excursion in advance?

You will need a valid booking number and a deposit on file to pre-reserve shore experiences. Please note that guests’ visitors cannot be accommodated on our shore experiences.

Are there any visa or vaccine requirements to participate in a shore excursion?

Visa requirements may differ by nationality. It is your responsibility to check with your travel professional and/or the government website to ascertain if a visa is required in certain countries due to your nationality. In countries where individual visas or vaccinations are required for entry, you will be informed by our documentation department. Visas may be secured for guests onboard in certain destinations but are not always guaranteed.

What is the dress code for shore excursions?

For your convenience, recommendations will be included in the Important Notes for each shore excursion at the bottom of the tour description page.

Are there any medical and/or physical requirements for shore excursions?

If you have a medical condition or require special assistance for mobility, we recommend you consider this before booking the excursion. For our guests’ safety and protection, Crystal reserves the right to refuse participation in a shore excursion to anyone who fails to advise about a health or mobility limitation or is deemed unfit to participate due to the nature of the excursion. Monetary

Are gratuities (tipping) for tour guides and drivers included in the excursion price?

While gratuities (tipping) are included in the shore excursions price, gesture of recognition is always appreciated when service exceeds expectations. If you feel that your guide, driver, or any local personnel have contributed to an exceptional experience, you are welcome to offer a tip at the conclusion of the tour, at your discretion.

How is the pricing structured for shore excursions?

Prices listed are per person and quoted in the U.S. Dollars unless otherwise noted. The cost of an excursion does not include food or beverages (unless specified in the description) or any expenses incurred if you leave the group before the excursion is completed. Child rates, where applicable, are available onboard at the Shore Excursions Desk. Pre-reserved shore excursions will be charged to onboard accounts. Certain specialty excursions, customized experiences, and overland bookings require prepayment ahead of the voyage and will be charged to your credit card instead of the onboard account.

What are the deposit and/or cancellation policies for booking a shore excursion?

Certain shore excursions may have special deposit requirements and/or strict cancellation policies, must be booked in advance, and are subject to availability. Guests should always read the Important Notes associated with each tour located at the bottom of the tour description prior to booking.

Are tours or excursions included?

Shore excursions are not included in the cruise fare on Crystal Serenity or Crystal Symphony.

Included Offerings

When do I receive tour tickets for pre-reserved shore excursions?

All guests will receive their tour ticket(s) in their guestroom or suite on the first day of the voyage upon embarkation. Please review the departure times, as they may differ from your original pre-reserved times, due to final operational adjustments.

Are shuttle services to city centers provided?

Yes, on select voyages and destinations, as advertised in our Reflections newsletter. Private transportation is recommended for guests who require special assistance.

Can I request multilingual guides?

Our shore excursions are conducted in English. However, in most ports of call, special arrangements can be made for an additional charge to secure multi-lingual guides. These arrangements are subject to the availability of the guides, require a minimum number of participants, and must be booked in advance.

Custom Experience

Am I able to book a customized experience with you?

Our customized experiences are thoughtfully curated by the most reliable and experienced Destination Management Companies in each destination - and by our sister brand, Abercrombie & Kent, whenever available. Private vehicles are available for half-day or full-day hire and can be reserved through MyAccount under My Reservation.

Booking

The Crystal Destinations team is dedicated to sourcing the most unique and innovative programs available for new and enriching in-depth discoveries that highlight each destination and provide a better understanding of the local area. The itineraries have been designed to be flexible and take advantage of opportunities that present themselves. Extended stays in port and overnights enable us to add surprises in remote locations.

When can I book a shore excursion or tour?

Excursions are available 180 days prior to your embarkation date (dependent on voyage and offerings). To book, log in to the booking portal in MyAccount at crystalcruises.com to see experiences for your upcoming voyages.

What is the latest time I can book a shore excursion?

Excursions are available for guests to pre-book until three days prior to sailing. You may contact the shore excursions team on board after embarkation if you would like to book an excursion while sailing. You can book onboard 24 hours in advance, although certain excursions may require more notice.

Can I book a tour independently through the internet or with a vendor ashore?

Please note that Crystal does not condone or recommend that guests participate in shoreside activities purchased through vendors within the port property or elsewhere ashore. We do not endorse and cannot be held liable for activities purchased through independent vendors. This includes any potential delays in the tour that may prevent a timely return to the vessel.

Can shore excursions be purchased onboard?

Guests can purchase excursions after embarkation. You will be asked to complete a booking form and return it to the Shore Excursions Office during opening hours, or deposit the form complete with name and suite or guest room number in the Shore Excursions Drop-Off Box at the Shore Excursions Desk. This form will then be processed and tour tickets shall be delivered to your guest room or suite subject to availability. We always recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred selection.
